DOCTORAL SYMPOSIUM

 Call for doctoral symposium papers

The Doctoral Symposium will take place during ESG 2018 conference in a separate room to provide a forum for PhD students to present ongoing research and to share ideas with other experienced researchers.

PhD students will discuss their research ideas and first results.

PhD students will receive a feedback from the audience.

It is a good opportunity to know and react with many other students and researchers in the same field of research and interest.

ESG 2018 Doctoral Symposium plans to bring together Ph.D. students working on topics relevant with ESG 2018 conference topics:

Energy Engineering:

  • Simulation and optimization of energy conversion systems
  • Environmental impact and sustainability of energy systems
  • Carbon capture and storage
  • Renewable resources modelling and optimization
  • Urban energy systems
  • Energy storage systems
  • Modelling and optimisation of  heat pumps, refrigeration and air conditioning systems
  • The hydrogen economy (production, distribution and storage)
  • Advanced application
  • Survey papers
  • Energy management
  • Safety and security
  • Energy resources technologies (Bio-Energy, Geothermal, Hydrogen, Hydro-power, Ocean, Solar, and Wind)

Smart Grids:

  • Smart grids (modelling, technologies,  management and control, software, applications, challenges)
  • Renewable sources integration with grid
  • Power quality
  • Demand response
  • Enhancing smart grid stability with the implementation of heuristic algorithms
  • Advanced metering infrastructure
  • Smart grid cyber security
  • Smart grid communications
